I’ve personally observed conversations wherein Mad Men fans prepare for watching the show by planning to have cigarettes ready. Have you?

A story arc about who gets the big contract to advertise VIRGINIA FUCKING SLIMS?? Think about it. Mad Men IS a thinly veiled cigarette ad.

I’ve not watched more than a few minutes of Mad Men. It seems stupid to me. But the way they ADVERTISE cigarettes is incredibly effective.
